1’s v St Albans’s 2
4-1 (Katie Richards, Katherine Langridge x2, Libby Knifton)
Bishop’s Stortford Women’s 1s opened the scoring in the first quarter through Katie, who finished clinically on the left after a spell of excellent build‑up play into the D. Stortford kept the momentum high, and their pressure was rewarded again when Titch converted from a penalty corner, a slight deflection helping the ball into the back of the net.
The third goal came from Libby, finishing a superb move created by a powerful ball fired into the D by Lou. St Albans did manage to pull one back — a decent finish, though nothing that troubled the balance of the game — but Stortford responded with a fourth, another well‑taken deflection from Titch to seal the result.
At the other end, goalkeeper Ali delivered a series of consistently strong saves, keeping St Albans out during key moments and providing real stability from the back. Player of the Match went to Locky, whose outstanding defensive work, calmness under pressure, and relentless tackling set the tone for the team’s performance.
Stortford ran out deserved 4–1 winners against St Albans, rounding off a brilliant all‑round display.
2’s v Blueharts 1
1-6 (Liv Smerdon)
Bishop’s Stortford fell to a 1–6 defeat away at Blueharts after a competitive first half.
The visitors fought back hard after an early goal through Liv, who won and then coolly converted a short corner, leaving the score 2-1 at half time. Despite some impressive, physical defensive play after the break from Grace earning Player of the Match for her tireless efforts — Bishop’s Stortford couldn’t hold back the home side, who pulled away in the second half to secure the win.
3’s v Blueharts 2
2-2 (Jemima Tasker x2)
Stortford played Blueharts on Saturday. It was a 9 goal thriller last time so the game was going to be close despite our positions in the table. Stortford were on fire in the first half and Blueharts just couldn’t get out of their half. We pressed high and tight, we capitalised on a few mistakes but despite getting lots of short corners we couldn’t convert. We kept the intensity high and finally Tasker scored just before half time. The second half was very similar but Blueharts had two lucky breaks and two goals. Stortford were not prepared to lose this game after having 90% possession and Tasker managed to find the back of the net again to bring the game level. With only a couple of minutes to go we pressed again but the final whistle went just before we had the chance to score! A fab performance from everyone involved.
4’s v Hertford 2’s
2-3 (Hollie Matheson)
The Ladies 4s went into their match against Hertford knowing it would be a tough challenge, but were determined to put in a strong performance. Hertford started the game brightly and managed to score early on, which knocked our confidence slightly, but the team kept working hard and stayed in the game. Hertford continued to press and capitalised on two further breakaway chances, meaning we went into half time 3–0 down.
The second half saw a much improved performance from the Ladies 4s, coming out with greater energy and intent. The pressure began to build and Hollie managed to slot home a well-taken goal to get us back into the game. This lifted the team, and we continued to push forward, earning a penalty flick which Hollie calmly converted to make it 3–2.
The final stages of the match were tense, with momentum on our side and multiple chances created in search of an equaliser. Despite our efforts, we were unable to find the back of the net again, and the game finished 3–2 to Hertford.
Player of the Match went to Hollie for her excellent work rate and composure in the midfield, playing a key role in driving the team forward throughout the game.
5’s v Welwyn 2’s

6’s v Southend and Benfleet 2’s
1-4 (Mia Beverley)
First draw of the season brings home a much-needed point
The 6’s went out against S&B 2s looking to break the points deadlock on the table (both static on 12 points). The game started hard as expected with both teams breaking forwards, attempting shots and earning penalty corners to no avail. With 10 minutes to go in the first half keeper Elsie Lowe came under significant pressure, showcasing some great technique to keep the goals out. A midfield break from Stortford saw Holly Haslam find Jemima Osmond who scored in what will be her last game for the team as she departs for RAF training.
Buoyed by a 1-0 lead at half time Stortford went looking to extend the lead however S&B came out determined to push forward with 3 successive short corners taken in the first few minutes. The constant pressure secured the equaliser as S&B worked the ball behind the keeper to bring scores level. A couple of corners utilising the slip option remained unconverted and then S&B broke forwards to take a second goal, finding the top of Naomi’s stick before going over the line. 2-1 to S&B. A couple more short corners for Stortford before good work between Holly and Jemima found Mia Beverley in the right position to claim the equalizer. Both teams kept the pressure up through to the final whistle with further corners in each direction closing out on 2-2 with a point each, and still the deadlock at the bottom of the table.
7’s v Hertford 4’s
3-0 (Katie Asser, Megan Laws, Imi Sharman)
The 7’s faced a strong Hertford side in an early home fixture. Hertford came out strong and the first half was end to end, with shots on goal for both teams and good saves from keeper Lis. Half time saw both teams still to find the back of the net.
The second half was a different story with the 7’s finding their form and dominating the play. With some excellent midfield interceptions and great distribution forward, Katie scored the first goal after some well worked play in the D. Megan netted shortly after, but Hertford remained dangerous on the break.
A flurry of short corners form Stortford and Imi found the back of the net. A goal line save by Gemma in the closing minutes kept Stortford’s clean sheet securing the 3 points. Lots of PoM votes across the team again demonstrating the excellent play throughout, but PoM today for her tireless work in midfield goes to Emily 🥳

3-3 (Jane Deans x3)
What a rollercoaster at Hockerill this Saturday! Facing a Letchworth side sitting just above us in the league—and looking to improve on our 3-0 loss earlier in the season—the Ladies 9s delivered a performance full of grit, heart, and clinical finishing.
The game started with a bang; we dominated possession early, and Jane Deans put us ahead in the 11th minute with a sharp finish at the near post following a lovely assist from Lily Dodd. However, Letchworth’s experience began to show. Their strong passing game allowed them to claw back, leading 2-1 at the break and quickly extending that to 3-1 in the second half.
At two goals down, the team’s character truly shone. Instead of letting heads drop, the squad found a new gear. The “ferocity” returned, sparked by relentless defensive work and fight to get in the way. We pulled one back via an own goal (pressured heavily by Jane and Lily) before Jane Deans struck again to level the score at 3-3, made by some great left wing play from Simret Gill and Izzy Green, starting deep in our own half.
The way the team battled across every inch of the pitch was nothing short of epic. A huge thank you to the players who stepped up from the 10s to bolster the squad today.
