Ladies 1s

This year’s player of season only joined the squad at start of season and brought and incredible amount of positivity and energy. Her commitment and energy has been brilliant, not only on game days, but during training too. Her work rate on pitch is second to none and has the pace and skills  to match it. She’s been a key player on pitch, her distribution as well as beating players, assisting goals and scoring too has been key in our successful season.

The Player of Season goes to: Libby Knifton

Ladies 2s

This person is someone that has steadily gained confidence throughout the year. She has been consistent week in week out, usually first named on the team sheet by the captain. She is composed on the ball and her passing accuracy is fantastic. She also gets voted player of match most weeks, so if that doesn’t give it away….

Player of season goes to: Charlotte Pettit

Ladies 3s

This individual didn’t start with the 3s in September. Finding her feet in lower teams and training well, she was chosen to fill a gap we thought her ability could fit into. Very strong in defence and going forward. Her timing of tackles is near perfect and her speed up and down the pitch is rapid.

This player thoroughly deserves to be the 3s Player of season: Harriet Turner

Ladies 4s

The 4s Player of the Season was mutually chosen by both Captain and Coach. Her commitment and enthusiasm to every game hasn’t wavered and gives 100%. An outstanding playmaker for the team. Her attendance at training is valued and she is always wanting to learn and apply all coaching points during games.

This year’s Player of Season is: Charlotte Range

Ladies 5s

5s Player of Season thoroughly deserves to be team player of season. She has shown commitment and consistency throughout a difficult year for 5s. Her dedication during training has forged team connection on the pitch. A strong and reliable defender. Communicates brilliantly, organising her team.  Always a positive attitude and outlook for every game, encouraging and setting a great example. This is proven as she had accolade for the ladies 6’s last season.

The award goes to:  Millie Barrett

Ladies 6s

So many under 18’s I this team could have been considered for the award and a shout out goes to Mia Beverley.

The winner is testimony to the impact of our Summer League. It gave her the confidence whilst playing with older players of all levels to join in and want to play for normal adult league. She has held a pivotal  role in midfield, her own team comments about her are : “she is always there to tackle, strong in defence and attack situations, a great all-rounder” “whenever she has the ball, there is always a good outcome and she changes play in a positive way”

Ladies 6 Player goes to : Zara Thompson

Ladies 7s

It’s been an amazing year with every player contributing to the teams success. Shout out to all the players who have been so available: juniors and adults. New to the club this season, endlessly positive will give any position a go when told and does so with positivity and enthusiasm. She’s been available for most games and attends all training giving 100%

A proper all round team player: Katie Asser

Ladies 8s

A tough choice this year with 2 players shining. The chosen individual is incredibly supportive, not only to the captain, but to the whole team. Constantly encouraging and reliable. The whole team enjoy playing alongside her each week. Her presence brings calm, positivity and a constant within the team during all the ups and downs. She’ll play wherever is needed, which shows her flexibility and commitment, her core values shine through, leading by example each week. A massive role model, constantly supporting and nurturing those younger players within the team.

Thoroughly deserving of this season’s team player: Amy Stiles

Ladies 9s

9s player was practically a clean sweep of nominations amongst the squad. She has played so well this year for the 9s, 100% commitment to games and training. Her contribution to the team during matches, not only by the half time vitamin C and sugar contribution, but by making valid points on how and what could be better. She has been changed from midfield to forward, and has flourished with that change, scoring or assisting most games. Her pack of weekly cheerleaders must also be a worthy shout out!

9s player of season is: Lilly Dodd

Ladies 10s

A really tough call for the 10s, the captain had very tough decisions to make on this one. It was a close call where a couple of players must get a mention, Sarah Pointon and Mable Bowie. Aan amazing season where they have both grown in confidence and skill. However, after discussion with coaches, I agree wholeheartedly that this years player of season must go to someone who is so encouraging to everyone on the team, whilst working hard on her own of hockey skills.

The coaches have watched her improve not only as a player, but in her role on and off the pitch, showing energy and commitment.

She stepped up in the team of mainly juniors to be Captain and is a true role model for the team to look up to.

The award goes to: Anna Inman

Most Improved Player

Another really difficult choice this year due to so much improvement by lots.. Mentions must go out to Amelia Leach and Tory Foote who came up a few times, however, there was one person nominated by a few that I had in mind from start of season.

This person started in the Back to Hockey squad in 2024 and allocated to the 8s early this season. She has shown incredible commitment and determination ever since. Recently selected to play for 7s, 6s and jumped into the O35s too.

She is exceptionally hardworking, always striving to improve, will always be first on pitch before training, doubling up her training attending every team’s sessions where playing for or was playing for. Her switch from playing her own country sport of Hurly was very apparent at times, she loved a stick tackle!!! She is even spotted during the day with her children on the pitch during the day, what makes this more impressive, she does this whilst studying for a Masters.

Her enthusiasm, positivity shine at all times, she brings passion and energy to training and games.

No-one has worked harder this year to improve their hockey skills and thoroughly deserves this award: Yvonne Monk

Young Player

This one has to be a no brainer choice.

Someone who actively encourages all around her. She will always volunteer to umpire where possible on Saturdays and for juniors on Sundays. She helps out during Evo camps with coaching and will be seen encouraging others during their games whilst watching from sidelines. A massive role model for our youth coming through.

All this whilst being selected for the England Squad pathway..

The Ladies Young Player goes to: Daisy Fox
