Thank you to all of you who took the time to complete the kit survey at the start of the 2020 season; we received a total of 130 responses. This survey provided valuable feedback and, most importantly, allowed us to hear what’s working and what is not in terms of the delivery, quality, fit and cost of our existing kit.

Key insights from the survey were:

  • 83% were satisfied with the overall quality of kit
  • 66% were less than satisfied with delivery time
  • 73% were satisfied with the price of existing kit
  • 46% wanted a new kit design, 54% wanted to keep the same design
  • Kit takes far too long to be delivered
  • Skorts are poorly fitted
  • Socks are poor quality
  • General sizing of kit is not standard and differs from order to order
  • Notice of kit supplier, if we were to change, would be essential

From your feedback and discussions with the committee, we decided to review our current kit. We started by providing some of the results from the survey to SilverFX and we also approached several other suppliers.

After a consultation with both members and committee, we wanted to share the exciting news that, with effect from the start of the 2021/22 season, MR Cricket Hockey shall be our new kit supplier. Over the last few years, they have been concentrating on supplying kit specially for hockey and have recently shown a real dedication to the sport by sponsoring the East Region Hockey Leagues!

What this means for you:

  • SilverFX continues to supply BSHC kit for the rest of this season
  • New kit will become available to order in summer 2021
  • Delivery of stock items within approximately 4 days
  • Improved fit and quality of key items (e.g. skorts and socks)
  • Reasonable cost
  • A 10% discount to all members for hockey equipment (e.g. sticks, shin pads, gloves) via MR Cricket Hockey shop
  • The MR Cricket Hockey shop is near Cambridge (approx. 30 minutes away) so you can browse their store in person

Please note: Although our aim is to move to new kit and suppliers from June 2021, we are aware that many members will have just bought kit from SilverFX this season. As such, we expect next season to be a year of transition; whereby members will be wearing a mixture of old or new kit.
