The Archdeaconess’ took on Hertford 1s in a hard fought away game in which Hertford snatched a 1-0 victory. Lori Morrison had a great game in goals and the defence played really well under a great deal of pressure but Hertford’s perseverance paid off in the end. On the positive side the team work was fantastic and improvements are definitely being made.
A home game this week for Stortford 8s saw another win for the team. The 8s had to defend hard against a strong start from the visiting team, Broxbourne 5s in Saturday’s game. Stortford Ladies 7s were very unlucky to lose, by a single goal, a strongly contested match against Blueharts 5s who were four places above them in the league.The game started with play back and forth. Blueharts were awarded an early short corner but this was easily smothered by the outrunning defenders. Best game of the season so far. Kirsty was amazing and made a big difference in her debut for the team. 4 at the back worked really well. Now we just need to learn how to score goals.
As the end of the season drew to a close the Acolytes found themselves top of the table, and uncatchable, on 56 points with 94 goals scored and a goal difference of 85. The ADs played a very fast paced game against BHHHC in their first home game of the season on Saturday.
