We are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II an extraordinary woman, who devoted her life to public service. As the longest reigning monarch in British history, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been a central part of life in the UK for eight decades, inviting 15 prime ministers to form governments, and reigning through times of momentous change. She devoted her life to country and community and was an example to us all.

I am sure we will all be reflecting on the Queen’s great life in our own ways.

We will be following the England Hockey guidance regarding the mourning period, and as a mark of respect, we will be observing the media blackout during this time; only essential information will be sent out to you or posted on our social media channels.

Currently all advertised fixtures and junior training will go ahead this weekend, with our players wearing black armbands and showing respect with a two minutes silence before games. This is subject to any further EH guidance. Everyone will have their only personal way of dealing with the news, if anyone feels they would prefer not to play this weekend then please do let your captains or club captains know as soon as possible.

You can read the full EH guidance here.
