Ladies 1s

This award goes to someone who has shown up to every game with passion and determination to win. Consistently played well in every position asked to play and has been player of match on numerous occasions.

This individual leads from the front  on the pitch and works tirelessly off the pitch to ensure the smooth running of the team on match day.

The Player of Season goes to the 1s Captain:

Robbo (Kate Robinson)

Ladies 2s

The nominated player from the 2s has also been consistent in availability to every game this season. She is a crucial member of the defensive line up. Consistently making key interception and tackles. Her special awareness allows her to get into positions that help break down opposition attacks and is able to turn that defence turnover into an attack with great transfers of the ball at pace up to the forwards.

She has impressed enough to get recalled back into the first squad when required and has been crucial in their defence.

The 2s Player of season goes to:

Molly Brooks

Ladies 3s

This individual joined the 3s at the beginning of October and immediately shored up the defence helping us win in her debut game. Since then her distribution and tacking have proved critical to the defence.

3’s Player of the Season is:

Grace Grindrod

Ladies 4s

The 4s Player of the Season was hotly contended, with 3 runners in the mix.

This individual is a much loved and respected member of a very tight knit group.

Totally dependable and 100% committed to the team, proven repeatedly every week. Her work rate on the pitch is unrelentless. This individual has thrived in her role as starting left Midfielder, her speed, skill and tenacity has cemented her spot as one of the team’s top performers. We look forward to what she achieves next season.

Thankful that she wanted to remain with the oldies this season, our Player of the Season goes to:

Rafae Roberts

Ladies 5s

Ladies 5 nomination was a hard decision due to similar amounts of nominations. The team Captain ran them through me, and I had to give a final vote which she was in total agreement to.

This individual is an extremely dedicated player, always available for training and matches. Her passion for her team has flourished this season, giving encouragement both on the pitch and when on the bench during games an she is confident to give opinion during half time talks.

This player has massively stepped up when being pinched by the 4s during poor availability, and although massively daunting for her, she was an asset during those matches and her confidence grew throughout each game.

I believe each member of the 5s agree that she is a pleasure to have on the team.

The 5s Player of Season goes to:

Catherine Clune

Ladies 6s

This individual only joined the club this season. She was noticed at her first couple of training sessions with the Ladies 8/9s, since then she has already become a huge asset to the 6s. Her positivity and demeanour is wonderful, and a joy to play alongside with.

She is a strong defender, difficult to get past and has shown that consistently throughout the season. Available for almost every match and even played a couple games for Ladies 5s.

Thankful that she stayed with the 6s our Player of the Season is:

Claire Holmes

Ladies 7s

This player has played almost every game this season apart from giving up one game to allow a junior to get some adult experience and one through illness. She is totally committed to the team, trains at 100% and took on extra training over the summer. She provides constant encouragement to the team, offers advice and guidance where she can and having completed her umpires course, she also explains some of the umpiring decisions to the team when able.

She often steps up as an umpire for club matches too.

Comments from her team about her are that she is too hard on herself at times, gives great encouragement to others, fully involved with the team both on and off the pitch but integral to the team, not just because of her position as GK.

Now that I’ve given it away- 7s Player of Season goes to:

Liz Foote

Ladies 8s

A very tough call on this decision. Two players stood out. However, with the choice player echoed amongst the team, the selected individual from the 8s has shown dedication to the team, always punctal to training and matches. During training puts 100% in and carries that over to the match play too.

Her confidence has soared this season. She is discreetly supportive with her fellow junior peer group. She also just happens to be the team top scorer too!

A joy to captain, the Ladies 8s Player of Season goes to:

 Megan Laws

Player of the year, front row second from left

Ladies 9s

The Ladies 9s was a struggle to choose one Player of Season.

Some incredible improvement and growing in confidence from a few players that were in the running for this award.

A personal shout out goes to Megan Strange, who I see most weeks always showing and determination and tries hard to master new drills, just needs to work on her mouselike voice to get noticed a bit more!

The internal voting from the team was almost too close to have a standout player. But ultimately the decision is a player that shows 100% encouragement to her team, always supportive, always trying to impart knowledge whilst on the pitch during games and in training. She drives the attacks and will chase back, which the remainder of the team are beginning to mirror her example.

Although this player isn’t necessarily the highest goal scorer, she is the assist for Viv Saunders, the highest goal scorer on the team.

However, by all accounts, when this player does score rather than be the assist, the whole town will know about it due to her excitement, we believe this also puts the opposition off!!

The 9s Player of Season goes to:

Sarah Alderson
