Bishops stortford ladies 6s v Southend & Benfleet
win 6-0
It was a glorious chilly sunny afternoon where Bishop stortford L6’s took on Southend and Benfleet 3’s. From the starting whistle BSL6s went out with high intensity, pressuring the opposition as they had first push back. Within the first 2 minutes BSL6s had the most possession seeing a lot of pressure in their D where we saw a beautiful slip across the D from Léa to Jo and she hit the ball into the corner of the goal which gave us a 1-0 lead. However, S&B manages to breakthrough on a counter attack into our D, which led to a short corner . Eliza ran 1 towards the striker with great effort causing them to miss the ball. Claire S then passed the ball to Amelia who drove the ball into the attacking D getting around their defender, she then hit the ball around the goalie making it 2-0.
After some transferring from the defenders Eliza, Gemma and Claire H managed to drive the play forward with some great transferring around the back. In the 21st minute Lois entered the D and had a shot on goal but it hit the right post and Grace did a reverse deflection in to the goal making it 3 -0 at the half time whistle.
Our second half started with Southend and Benfleet 3 coming back hard wanting to get some goals with putting pressure on our midfielders and defence. There was a lot of passes around our d and causing Lottie to be kept on her toes. This then saw Kim send a strong slap out towards the right to Elizabeth where she made a lovely base line run pulling it back to Grace who passed it to p stop where Jo N secured us with another goal making it 4-0. Once the game reset there was a lot of lovely triangle play with in the centre of the pitch which had been put in to place at training. This then led to a short corner where we went for the deflection and their goalie kicked the ball which resulted in a high flying ball and no goal was seen here. The L6’s pressed well and Claire S won the ball where she fed the ball to Beth who was in a space and Lois which caused it to be 5-0. 3 minutes later Grace entered the attacking D where Mary was positioned nicely by the right post where she slipped it in to make the score 6-0. The final whistle blew securing a well deserved 6-0 win. The Player of the match went to Amelia Leach.
