Bishops stortford 6s v Southend and Benfleet 2s

It was the match for top of the leauge with Bishops stortford 6s sitting one place behind them.
Southend and Benfleet had first push back, Bishops stortford 6s went out with high intensity, Southend and Benfleet swiftly moved the ball around a transfer whilst the BSL6s applying pressure to win the ball. The first 10 minutes BS6s saw many attempt to score but the outcome of a short corner came. Léa injected to jo N who hit a straight strike narrowly missing going wide. The 3 forwards and mids were quick to set up the press for the 16 but Southend and Benfleet managed to play the ball wide and counter attack down the wing. Claire H then tackled a player then passed it wide to Beth Moore who made a run passing it onto Amelia, making a run along the baseline which hit a foot and won a short corner. The ball was played to top D where Jo N was standing, she slipped it to Sully who hit it towards the goal, but was no outcome. It had been 20 minutes into the first half and there had been no goals for either teams. The ball was played from outside the D to Lois who slapped it in to the corner of the goal. Shortly after the ball was played from Beth Metson to Sully Who rolled strong and hit it across the D and into the goal minutes before the half time whistle.
After a positive team talk and half time BS6s went in with a strong attitude. It was our pushback, Southend and Benfleet applied some pressure but couldn’t break BS positioning. A lovely transfer around the back from Alana, to Claire H to Eliza who passed it along to Mary running it past a defender and slapped it to the top of the D for Amelia to run onto. Amelia got the ball around the defender and then slipped it past the goalie with force making it 3-0 to Bishop’s Stortford. BS6s had high energy to keep the goal coming, Charlotte made a lovely tackle after pressuring a player and passed to Amelia she drove wide and passed it to Mary who slapped it into the right corner creating another goal. With high spirits Bishops storford went out for more Claire S pressured a player in the corner winning the ball and passing it towards charlotte then fed the ball to P spot where Jo N deflected it in. In the 27th minute of the 2nd half Sully passed the ball strongly towards, Mary who received it and flicked the ball into net getting her 2nd goal of the match. Less than 2 minutes later Bishops storford counter attacking as Beth moore ran up to the 25 passing it to Léa who won a short corner, claire injected it out to Jo N who straight stocked the ball in to the left corner, making the score 7-0. The final whistle blew soon after and meant the Bs6s were back at top of the leauge.
